The Syrian foreign Ministry accused Turkey of supporting terrorists
Syrian foreign Minister Walid Muallem accused Turkey of supporting the terrorist group Jabhat al-Nusra (banned in Russia). He said this, speaking at the General political debate of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly (GA), reports TASS.
“When it comes to sponsors of terrorism, the current Turkish regime is superior to all others. This is the main sponsor of terrorists in Syria and in the region. It has facilitated the transfer of tens of thousands of foreign terrorists to Syria and continues to provide all forms of support to Jabhat al-Nusra and related terrorist groups that are killing Syrians in cold blood, “the Minister said.
Also, according to him, work is underway to “turkize” the Syrian territories. Those who refuse to live under “Turkish occupation in Hasek and dozens of towns on the Turkish border” are subject to “collective punishment”.
Russian and Turkish presidents Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan agreed on a ceasefire in Idlib at talks in Moscow on March 5. The parties agreed on an additional Protocol, under the terms of which all military operations on the contact line in Idlib will stop and a so-called security corridor will be created along the M4 highway passing through Idlib. The reason for the high-level talks was the sharp deterioration of the situation in the province, as a result of which at least 62 Turkish soldiers were killed in January-February.
